KIDRAGON aka ‘Muhammad Abdul Lateef’, MECCA & MEDINA, pilgrimage/trip 05-08 photo by Nushmia Khan & kidragon.
This is kidragon aka Muhammad Abdul Lateef. I want to share with everyone snapshots from my blessed journeys to Mecca & Medina (Saudi Arabia). Ever since I became Muslim back in 2003, I’ve always had this burning desire to visit the two cities of Mecca & Medina. Mecca is the birthplace of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and Islam. Medina, a city roughly 210 miles north of Mecca, is where the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) migrated to after facing persecution & oppression in Mecca. Medina also contains the blessed tomb of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). The two along with Jerusalem are considered to be the three holy cities in the Islamic tradition.Thank God, I’ve been blessed to travel to Mecca & Medina 3-times in the past 4-years. My first trip was in 2005 with Omar Qureshi aka DJ Omega. The second was for the Hajj/pilgrimage in 2006/7, and recently during the summer of 2008. Each visit has its own blessed story and is filled with volumes upon volumes of special moments and experiences.Words fall short in describing the beauty and spiritual wealth of Mecca & Medina. Tranquility & peace resides there. I mean you can actually FEEL that there is a Prophet & great Messenger of God buried in the earth. There’s a lot of love in the air and it motivates you to learn more about the Prophet’s life, mission, & purpose…

During the Hajj in 2006/7, I was blessed with meeting Habib Umar from Yemen. Habib Umar is a direct grandchild of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). He comes from a noble family of piety and knowledge and travels the world inviting humanity to the message of his great-grandfather.

This photo was taken in Medina Al-Munawara, the blessed city of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH during the 2008 Rihla program. Some of the giants of the community of the Prophet PBUH of our age. May God bless all of us to benefit from them…

mA! You met Shaykh Abu Bakr too?! All I know is that I was praying one day in the moqsue and he stood out so much because of the light emanating from his face. I approached him and never wanted to leave his side. He would take me by the hand and walk with me around the mosque, and through this I would see him greet other special inhabitants of the mosque. Then I asked a person he greeted “Who is this man”, the person replied “He is Sayyid Abu Bakr from Afghganistan”. I then replied “He’s a big friend of God?!” , the man’s facial response suggested “Ineed, a big friend…”

[37:69] They found their parents astray.
[37:70] And they blindly followed in their footsteps.
[37:71] Most of the previous generations have strayed in the same manner.
[37:72] We have sent to them warners.
[37:73] Note the consequences for those who have been warned.
[37:74] Only GOD’s servants who are absolutely devoted to Him alone (are saved).

[31:21] When they are told, “Follow these revelations of GOD,” they say, “No, we follow only what we found our parents doing.” What if the devil is leading them to the agony of Hell?
*** On Dividing Yourselves
[30:32] (Do not fall in idol worship,) like those who divide their religion into sects; each party rejoicing with what they have.
*** Only One Religion
[42:13] He decreed for you the same religion decreed for Noah, and what we inspired to you, and what we decreed for Abraham, Moses, and Jesus: “You shall uphold this one religion, and do not divide it.”
*** The Unity of All righteous people
[2:62] Surely, those who believe, those who are Jewish, the Christians, and the converts; anyone who (1) believes in GOD, and (2) believes in the Last Day, and (3) leads a righteous life, will receive their recompense from their Lord. They have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve.
[5:69] Surely, those who believe, those who are Jewish, the converts, and the Christians; any of them who (1) believe in GOD and (2) believe in the Last Day, and (3) lead a righteous life, have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve.
*** One God/ One Religion
[21:92] Your congregation is but one congregation, and I alone am your Lord; you shall worship Me alone.
[21:93] However, they divided themselves into disputing religions. All of them will come back to us (for judgment).
*** ALL the Righteous ones are accepted
[5:5] Today, all good food is made lawful for you. The food of the people of the scripture is lawful for you, [and your food is lawful for them]*. Also, you may marry the chaste women among the believers, as well as the chaste women among the followers of previous scripture, provided you pay them their due dowries. You shall maintain chastity, not committing adultery, nor taking secret lovers. Anyone who rejects faith, all his work will be in vain, and in the Hereafter he will be with the losers.
*** Traits of the Righteous
[25:63] The worshipers of the Most Gracious are those who tread the earth gently, and when the uninformed speak to them, they only utter peace.
*** The Quran is All We Need
[12:111] In their history, there is a lesson for those who possess intelligence. This is not fabricated Hadith; this (Quran) confirms all previous scriptures, provides the details of everything, and is a beacon and mercy for those who believe.
*** Which Hadith?
[45:6] These are GOD’s revelations that we recite to you truthfully. In which Hadith other than GOD and His revelations do they believe?
[45:7] Woe to every fabricator, guilty.
[31:6] Among the people, there are those who uphold baseless Hadith, and thus divert others from the path of GOD without knowledge, and take it in vain. These have incurred a shameful retribution.
*** Quran: Fully Detailed
[6:114] Shall I seek other than GOD as a source of law, when He has revealed to you this book fully detailed?* Those who received the scripture recognize that it has been revealed from your Lord, truthfully. You shall not harbor any doubt.
*** Invitation to All Believers
[3:64] Say, “O followers of the scripture, let us come to a logical agreement between us and you: that we shall not worship except GOD; that we never set up any idols besides Him, nor set up any human beings as lords beside GOD.” If they turn away, say, “Bear witness that we are submitters.”
*** Only God Guides
[28:56] You cannot guide the ones you love. GOD is the only One who guides in accordance with His will, and in accordance with His knowledge of those who deserve the guidance.
