Dj Sesqui and Tah Rei are currently performing in the Malian Fusion Group Dusu. Malian Ibrahim Kelly (Nephew of Legendary Ali Farka Toure) has recently moved to Portland and has brought his Roots with a blend of Jazz, Afro-beat, Desert Blues, and Electric Folk to the west coast. This band has been evolving since our coming together in Dec 2009. We are geared up to perform at the Joshua Tree Music Festival and 5 other gigs on our May Tour.
Ali Farka Toure
We are playing at Fais Do Do at 10:30pm on Tuesday May 18th. It’s a free show so we want to get some heads out late to catch our last set of the Tour. I have including a 11 by 17 Poster that Sesqui and I did together. It has all the dates with the Fais Do Do show highlighted. Sesqui just got into the band so he isn’t picture here. We lost our drummer and thankfully added Edgar and now the band is smokin’.
