Renato is another export of Perù’s constant migration of arts from the south coast of the country, a city they call “ciudad blanca” Arequipa.

He is not only a graphic artist, but also a photographer and the percussionist of “Los Chapillacs”, Psych Cumbia mix with Rock.  Los Chapillacs are one of the most active bands coming out of Perù to share the Chicha Movement to the new generation of musicians and djs. They been working hard doing sometimes 3 shows a day and working every weekend from city to city.  Last year, Dj Bongohead (Pablo Iglesias) placed the song “Recordando a Marion” from Los Chapillacs to a compilation of Cumbia cds from various parts of the world.  The project was call “Beginners Guide To Cumbia”.

In 2010 Los Chapillacs released their 1st LP title “ODISEA Cumbia 3000”  independently. It came out to the world on August 3rd 2010.  Ever since they’ve continue to packed shows from North to South of the country, they been recording commercials and appearing in bigger Festivals.

ELLIOT TUPAC, Perù Arte Grafico y Musical

Elliot Urcuhuaranga Cárdenas “ELLIOT TUPAC” diseñador y artista grafico de 32 años. De origen huancaíno crea y diseña desde los 12 años Lettering y Tipografías para Afiches Chicha; estos afiches que surgen en la década de los 80s dentro de un contexto social marcado por el fenómeno musical tropical andino o “chicha” con grupos importantes como los Shapis, Los Ovnis , Alegria, Vico y su grupo Karicia entre otros.

Desde el 2004 “ELLIOT TUPAC” reivindica el arte de los Afiches Chichas y empieza a alternar con artistas plásticos del Perú y de otras partes del mundo; realizo murales para la película de Claudia Llosa “Madeinusa” y la galardonada “La Teta Asustada”. Este Año 2010 inicio el año realizando el diseño e impresión de la portada de la prestigiosa revista inglesa Creative Review “. En Octubre realizo tres importantes actividades en Chile (workshop – charla – exposición) bajo el patrocinio de la Universidad Mayor de Chile, el suplemento “Somos” del diario el Comercio encargo el diseño e impresión de la portada. ..y así muchos diseños para revistas Chilenas y del mundo con su estilo singular enfocado en la temática Chicha y su obsesión en las Tipografías.

NAIQUE “Nike com NUNCA” world cup project

Nunca is one of the most prolific ‘grafiteiro’ from the concrete jungle’s of Såo Paulo, Brazil.  From a young age starting as a “pixador”.

Francisco Rodriguez da Silva also call by his close friends “Kiko”.  Nunca has attracted the graffiti eye from every angle of the world, touring the European continent and participating in expositions in various events in his native Brazil.

Nunca was hit up by Nike sportswear “soccer” to do a project / collaboration for the upcoming World Cup in South Africa.  The collection included 3+ pairs of different styles of soccer shoes as well as a vulcanized high top, soccer jerseys, polos, t-shirts, hood sweaters and other items…

His trademark of Pixação has allow him to create icons and mascots for the collection as well as some indigenous artwork and his famous line work and bold pixo angles on his distinctive style.

Nike has release the collection this month, May 2010, and you can view more of Nunca x Nike Sportwear. (photos)>
